WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, January 24, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The United States Hispanic Business Council (USHBC) and representatives of the industries and communities most affected by the border crisis ask the President and his administration to form an alliance between government and business leaders to enact immediate and long-term measures to solve the crisis at our southern border.

In a recent letter to the President, the alliance of diverse signees share concerns and offer actionable solutions to tackle this multigenerational crisis. The alliance includes: United States Hispanic Business Council, Akorbi Group, CTI Construction, Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Global Development Advisors, Hispanic Chamber of e-Commerce, Mastec, Inc., Peinado Construction, Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, Strategic Legal Solutions, Texas International Produce Association, Texas Lobby Partners and Utah's American Latino Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Immigration reform is imperative to help restore human dignity, economic and supply chain stability, and to protect the well-being of all Americans. The letter asks that the Administration call upon the business community for fresh perspectives and solutions, citing similar historical successes such as calling upon auto and other manufacturers during WW2, tapping tech giants with the creation of the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative, and leaning on the medical and pharmaceutical industries to fast-track COVID research and vaccines.

“In a time of historic supply chain disruptions, inflation, and labor shortages, the need for immigration reform is at an all-time high. Our nation has always called on business to solve major crises, and this crisis should be no different - we need business and government to work together and act before it’s too late” said Don Salazar, Chairman of the USHBC.

Immigrant contributions to this country go far beyond our economy. The letter highlights that “America’s cornerstone industries, including agriculture, transportation, construction, hospitality, and infrastructure - rely on the contributions of immigrants and a functional foreign worker system. Collaborating to create unique and new solutions is imperative to the future of these industries. The involvement of our nation's business leaders and impacted organizations is vital for fostering bipartisanship and transparency in how our country fixes both the crisis at the southern border and immigration.”

“The USHBC and alliance partners are hopeful that this effort will launch a partnership with the Administration to develop and enact actionable border and public policy solutions that address humanitarian and business needs, develop an expedited employment authorization initiative, be a conduit to affected communities, and act as emissaries to help prevent migration” said Javier Palomarez, President and CEO of the USHBC.
